Start with the affected usage window, then compare recent work. A fast drop alone cannot tell us whether there is a billing or metering issue.

Open Usage with the account and workspace you use in Codex. Check both the five-hour and weekly windows, including the reset times. In Codex CLI, /status also shows remaining limits.

For your next necessary task, narrow the scope and consider a smaller model if it can do the work. Note the window and time before and after. This helps comparison, but does not promise a fixed saving.

Record the affected window, before/after readings, times, model and a brief task description. Use existing records rather than running extra tasks just to consume quota. Send reproducible details to support using the template below.
I cannot find or interpret the information
Do not infer your balance from other users or public announcements. Record what your own page shows and what is missing, then ask official support. Leave unknown fields blank in the template.
Check relevant service updates
Compare the affected feature and incident time with your problem. A public incident does not prove the cause of your account issue, and no listed incident does not rule one out.
